Nowadays boxing gloves or kickboxing gloves are available in all kinds of sizes and models. At Fightstyle we offer gloves from Yokkao, Super Pro, Twins Special, Fairtex, Booster Fight Gear, Adidas, King Pro Boxing and UFC.
To help you make the right choice we provide you with an advice for each glove. This advice can be found in the product description. We make a distinction between three skill levels:
- Beginner to amateur
- Amateur to advanced
- Advanced to fighter
The first level is for someone who is just starting out in a martial arts such as boxing or kickboxing. This level is also suitable when you take 1 or 2 lessons a week in workouts like bag training, FightFun and Body Combat. Boxing gloves that fall into the first level are often made of synthetic leather. This makes these boxing gloves the most affordable of all levels.
The second level is intended for someone who attends lessons 2 to 3 times a week. This could be bag training, FightFun and Body Combat, but it also applies to regular boxing and kickboxing workouts.
The third level is ment for advanced athletes and fighters who participate in boxing and kickboxing training combined with sparring and padding 3-5 times a week. The boxing gloves that are rated at this level are made of leather and fall in a higher segment in terms of price range. Quality-wise, these are the best gloves you can buy.
As a beginner or amateur in boxing and kickboxing you can always choose boxing gloves from a higher level. This just means that you are buying a higher quality product that will last longer. Are you advanced or a fighter? Then we do not recommend purchasing a boxing glove from a lower level. The reason for this is that cheap often becomes expensive. With your training intensity and the number of weekly workouts, cheaper gloves will wear out quickly and then you will just have to buy a new pair all over again. Do yourself a favour and invest in a good pair of leather gloves. Even when this means saving up for them first.
Do you not only have doubts about the gloves you need, but also about the right size boxing gloves for you? We have made a size chart for each brand of boxing gloves. You may find a link to the size chart in the product description of the glove and at the bottom of our website. Click here to go to our size chart.
